*INDEPENDENCE*

*INDEPENDENCE* Guest Post By Munya Dembenuzani Just the thought of the word makes my blood rise. It makes me wanna hide. Scores of people annually march to the tide. Growing up, I was always expected to be in doors by 6, chastisement was the mode of the day as it was "the only way I could understand". I always topped the chats on the noisemakers list when I thought I was trying to voice my opinions. What if i'm highly dependent on mama n papa?, If I can't walk freely without an ID or if I can't shout " bullshit". Am I eligible to attend the "independence fete?". What if I'm unemployed?, do I celebrate the declared holiday? Ohhhh wait a minute, wasn't I on holiday all along? Or was I ? Anyways let me get back to cooking (mbambaira ne madhumbe angu ayaaa zvisat zvatsva) what else can I do if I can't Independently buy bread hangu Kkkkkk *murisei henyu ikoko...*

MY INTUITION (conscious realization)

MY INTUITION (Conscious Realization)   # 104MhlangaAvenue By Richard Fani My state of mind is compromised. I move left and right, back and forth, I see forces around me influencing and patronizing my intelligence. My vision is a blur, I hear a thousand voices in my head but still got limited choices. Fake friends all around me, no love in the promised land. What is it I'm talking about? Is this a poem or a random story? Is this about Richard Fani or some Mbare kid? This is more than just about 104 Mhlanga Avenue, this is about the people confused and mentally baffled around the world. They appealed to my conscious with bling bling and cash money. Prophets and pastors talking about instant riches and instant money in the bank. Politicians, poli-teaching just bought my vote with a bag of maize and a promised land. Playing with our fantasies, killing our hopes, ruining the future of the little boys and girls in the ghetto streets. Now brothers are slanging and thugging whilst t...

The 3 Major Attributes to Failure

The 3 Major Attributes to Failure. What each and every entrepreneur/person should brace for: By Richard Fani Doubt   Indecision   Fear The road of entrepreneurs is never easy, it is filled with negative feelings and emotions all aimed at preventing the entrepreneur from reaching his/her goals. These negative feelings and emotions are called INDECISION, DOUBT and FEAR and are perpetuated by the people that we spend most of our time with, the things that we see or hear every single day. These feelings and emotions are created slowly every day until they become a part of us, untraceable, unnoticeable but much alive in our subconscious minds. These 3 major negative feelings and emotions are perhaps the most destructive of all as they create a sense of insecurity by influencing our minds of the impending non-existing danger, thereby preventing us from taking that much needed step into greatness. Without these 3 feelings and emotions I don’t think there would ...

Blame Me: No One Else

The Blame 104 Mhlanga Avenue, MBARE By Richard Fani 25years old man yet still living in my grandmother’s house have average education and like to take initiative. However, circumstances around me dictate my everyday life. No opportunities lie ahead for me. The future for me is definitely uncertain. All I can see are the people to and the reasons to BLAME. Yeah, (point that finger). I blame it all on the incompetent government. Those policy makers owe me the riches I never had. Thieves in government suits and driving government cars and spending loyal tax payers’ money (my money). If only my country was governed by an accountable government, I know for a fact that I would have finished school, I would have a job, a decent income and I would have a better future. So yeah, blame the government. May I please go further and blame corruption. Blame it all on the corrupt officials, the police, the prosecutors, the judges, the tax collectors, the price regulators and not f...

104 Mhlanga Avenue, MBARE

104 Mhlanga Avenue, MBARE By Richard Fani My home address itself signifies violence. Your perception about me is associated with criminology, drug using, sex offending and many other negativity. You think my body is tattooed from head to toes. Instead of asking me which church I go to, you ask me how many times I’ve been arrested? Is it a sin? Is it a crime? Is my fault that I was born in the low income house suburb (ghetto?) Is it my fault that I couldn’t finish high school because my mother couldn’t afford that for her four bad boys? Your analogy and perceptions about me is clearly mis-OVER-stood, f*cked up. (Yeah, I know you been wondering when I would say the F-WORD, so f*ck it) My home address is my birth defect. It’s hard to get a job out there and even harder to keep it. Employers just don’t trust my physical address. So, whenever they ask for a CV I fabricate where I’m coming from just so they can accept me. Human Resource conducts an employee audit and re...

How can relationship marketing change the perception of customers

How relationship marketing can change the perception of customers By Richard Fani When I was in High School doing my A-Level studies our Divinity teacher got pregnant and was sent off to a maternity leave for 6months. In no time we were given a temporary teacher to help us with our studies as we continue. The teacher we got was a very good teacher probably better than the one which we had before, however on the very first day that she came to attend class she failed one thing that made nearly all the students hate her. The teacher failed to create a more personal relationship with the students which could have helped her understand the students better; where they are coming from, where they are and where they are going. The result was very fatal both to the teacher’s career and the studies of the students. Students began to be hostile to the teacher and grew an attitude with the subject. Some students started to skip the Divinity studies whilst others attended private lessons wi...

The Young Brave Girl

The Young Brave Girl I saw resistance to be bullied by an older guy in the eyes of this young girl from Nharira Primary School in Mbare. She stood there like she was ready to hit the guy with everything she had, or maybe she really would have.   I believe what scared the guy the most was the fearlessness in the eyes, voice tone, and body language of this young girl. What scared the guy the most was that the girl was prepared to lose everything whilst he was not willing to take that chance. I would really want to see many young girls who can resist being bullied buy their fellow male counterparts. I want to see people who can refuse to be bullied by circumstances in life. I want you to challenge your fears, face them and show them that the time to be scared has passed now. Some battles are not won by the fist but by the courage, discipline and the determination to win. A lot of girls would have said well he is a guy and I’m just a girl what can I do? He is much ol...
